Library – An Overview
The library is strategically located at the “spine” of the building on the 4th floor, offering the knowledge space for exceptional learning experiences, access to quality resources and services, and various study facilities to support the learning and teaching initiatives of our staff and students.
The library services are tailored to meet APU staff and students’ teaching, learning and research strategies collectively. We guide you on how to best make use of your library membership privileges, assist you in locating the right resources based on your academic needs, reserving an item that you wish to borrow, organising individual or group consultation sessions, conducting library workshops on request, arranging inter-library loan, connecting with us virtually when physical meeting is not possible and more.
APU Library currently holds approximately 40,000 volumes of printed materials, ranging from text and reference books, journals, reports, magazines, final year projects, theses, and audio-visual materials. The collection also includes an expanding range of electronic resources such as e-books, e-journals and online databases covering multidisciplinary subject areas. Access and explore our collection here.
The library has designated computer workstations and access to Wi-Fi for students to use for their academic related work, or to access the library catalogue to search for resources, and to access the Grammar checker application, Grammarly. The library also is well-equipped with self-check kiosks which helps users to borrow and return items efficiently without having to wait in a queue to be served.
We provide group discussion rooms equipped with LCD screens & HDMI cables, open study spaces, a dedicated quiet zone, lounge area with various seating arrangements that supports independent learning, interactive discussions, collaborative work, and creative brainstorming sessions among our patrons. This is in line with our teaching strategy which encourages open and multidisciplinary approaches.
